I came across the photo above and the first thing that popped into my mind was a kenyan upcountry 90's décor craze that involved sticking newspapers on walls and sometimes ceilings. There were those who took it a notch higher and had season cards as well, criss crossing the room on strings creating a star shaped ceiling treatment of sorts. The overall effect was usually a very busy look.
The problem was never the idea, but more on the execution. Covering all the four walls of a room creates a boxed in feeling and lessen the aesthetic feel. Having this concept on one wall or part of a wall will ensure you dont get the cluttered look. Pick the parts of newspaper that are visually similar, say plain text or just images. The similarity in the content is what makes it feel wholesome. If you've wondered at some point what to do with all the newspaper you have piled up over months or years, guess its time to take your scissors out and put them to good use.
You could also create shapes and patterns with the same and arrange them on a part of a feature wall.
